Waist line from the Butterfly Harness goes up into ribs

Hi! I observe a recurring issue, not always but often: the waist line of my Butterfly, positioned rather down at the start (around belly button or slightly above) move during suspension (and transitions... not sure when...I'd say inverted to face up) and tend to go up toward the floating ribs. It's on the version with hip/leg harness. Any idea to prevent that? The rest of the harness does not move much I think, mainly the waistline. Many thanks for your advice!

Hey Kage,

Sorry it's taken me so long to answer your question..

This is indeed a common issue with the Butterfly harness. The best way to stabilise the waist line is to tie it rather 'tight' into the right spot, but of course not every model can/wants to have a tight wrap around the waist. If tight isn't an option then it will move around a bit (or a lot if it's really loose) unfortunately. It also depends a lot on each person's morphology, some people's upper body shape allow more or less of this flaw.

I hope you and your models still enjoy this tie !

Cheers,

marika

  • Hi, I was wondering if the agura shown in the " BASIC TIES ON A PARTNER - AGURA & EBI " can be used to play with partials, using the loop that's connected to the chest harness / neck to connect to a hard point instead? or would the structure need to be enforced somehow? (just to play with the body balance without actually lifting the but from the ground).
  • Hello Marika, greetings from Madrid, Spain from a noob rigger. I enrolled into Shibari-Study two weeks ago and quickly realized your tutorials are the best you can find all around the internet so far. So thanks so much from sharing your knowleadge, empathy and flow with the rest of the world... I noticed there's a short film you performed with Geltasta called "Spellbound". I tried tro find it but couldn't see more than the trailer. I'm really interesed in watching the whole movie, so, can you please let me know where I can download it/buy it if it is available right now? Thanks so much. Look forward to see your coming soon classes around the Shukabishi since I'm really in love with that harness. Best regards YUGO PD: when are you coming to Madrid for performming and/or workshopping? :-)
  • Do you foresee any issue if we tie the neck hug tie (the version in the beginners course) immediately under the breast (in the same plcae as the TK second wrap) instead of the waist?
