I can't finish this without praising the last video of the course. A simple and delightful demonstration of all the techniques and concepts using one rope and two committed and gracious people. A true gift.contribute with something of your knowledge to someone who will find it meaningful.
The videos in the Beginner Course follows the quality standards I'll never cease to compliment and that are an inherent part of Shibari Study since the beginning.
The person who never tried Shibari will find him/her/themselves respected. You are not treated like a noob, you are not treated with indifference and bland instructions. You are treated with the utmost respect.
The videos are warm and inviting, and not less technical because of it. You are guided at every step of the way, advised on the perils of the path, and of different ways to achieve the purpose of the lesson. The images are clear and the two cameras perspective , a feature that is one of my favorites since I saw it for the first time, gives you insights you assimilate without knowing.
The idea of presenting the techniques on how to tie yourself is brilliant, because not only you can have a closer approach to the rope's wonders and it's traps, but you can also feel the effects of what you are doing , so you can have a much better notion of the impact and feeling that the one you are tying will feel. This gives you a much more comprehensive learning. I know that a lot of people have already done that to themselves, tol learn to try, for fun and other reasons. But doing it as a course method of teaching is refreshing to me.
And then there's Marika. Who is a wonderful person and makes everything looks easy. Nonetheless she treats the lessons seriously, but there's always a lightness in everything she does that, for me is a signature.
So, please, take the course. Enjoy it. Dive in it. Be yourself an experienced rigger or a beginner, you will appreciate the lessons and you will smile. I dare you not to.
